Hurley Guitars specialise in the making of steel string acoustic and electric guitars. Using only the finest materials in the construction of our guitars, we strive to give the discerning player a one of a kind, premium instrument built entirely around their needs, playing style and tastes. Each guitar is entirely hand made by luthier Victoria Hurley. Having one luthier working on the guitar throughout the entire build process gives us the ability to tune the components of the guitar in harmony with each other, ensuring that each and every guitar we build has the best possible tone. We are able to undertake all guitar repair work and most of our bespoke guitar making services in the small workshop located inside of our shop, although some of the guitar making process takes place in our large off site workshop.
Victoria Hurley holds a First Class Honours degree in Musical Instrument (guitar making) from London Metropolitan University. Victoria specialised in the making and repair of steel string acoustic guitars, she also constructed electric guitars as a student developing an in depth understanding and gaining great experience in this area of luthiery as well. A natural talent, she finished top of her class at London Met and received the prestigious University Recognition Award for Academic Excellence.
Once Victoria completed her studies she became a luthier full time and established Hurley Guitars, a small company offering bespoke guitars made by hand and guitar repair services. In 2013 Hurley Guitars moved to its current High Street location in Orpington. Now open to the public three days a week customers can come into the shop and speak with Victoria about their commission or repair work during opening hours.
